Yes, in most countries, some partners have what is known as a 'DB'.

However, for those in Japan, almost none of the providers have such an arrangement due to the specific nature of the system in the country. However, it is still possible to set up direct billing with your insurance company. This is usually arranged when you are admitted to hospital or when outpatient treatment is expensive. Prior to treatment, the insurance company will usually issue a Guarantee of Payment (GOP) directly to the healthcare facility, which is almost the same as a DB. We can help you arrange this as part of our ongoing service.

UPDATE: January 2026

Another partner is currently rolling out the Payment Debit Card, but only for the Group Scheme. This means that you no longer need to pay out of your own pocket and claim reimbursement. Cards for individual clients will be available in the near future.
